SUMMARY
The NY Metro Area Manager is responsible for sales of the premium brands and SKUs of the Freixenet USA portfolio (as determined by their Regional Manager and/or Division Director), with particular focus given to on premise and independent fine wine retail accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Spend 3-4 days per week calling on accounts (either solo or with a distributor rep/manager) to secure new placements and BTG features.
• Build relationships with on premise/retail managers and distributor sales personnel. Identify key market influencers and establish relationships that turn them into ambassadors for our brands.
• Schedule and conduct monthly sales meetings and field work days with distributor reps/managers.
• Work with the Regional Sales Manager and/or Division Director to determine volume and placement goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Track and regularly review progress toward goal attainment.
• Assist the Regional Manager in creating and implementing programming for the distributor to facilitate achieving set goals and developing focus brands/SKUs. Communicate and manage regional marketing programs.
• Identify target accounts and compile a target account list.
• Develop and maintain a key account book of top restaurants and fine wine shops that feature our premium SKUs.
• Obtain proper shelf positioning, cold box placement, signage, displays and shelf POS in off premise fine wine accounts.
• Identify grassroots opportunities (i.e. events, sponsorships, parties) through market research and act on this research.
•Adhere to all budgets assigned, including samples and travel & entertainment.
•Other duties may be assigned.

Other Responsibilities
• Entertain customers and potential accounts in accordance with FX/GF company policies.
• Periodically participate in crew drives in surrounding markets to support divisional sales efforts.
• Ensure that the FX/GF culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, which includes both ethical and legal aspects, complying with federal and state laws and FX/GF company policies and procedures.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years’ experience in the wine industry or a closely related industry, preferably on premise experience with a wine wholesaler.
• Current working knowledge of the territory is a must.
• Demonstrated success at meeting sales quotas, resolving customer problems and determining customer needs, effective people and sales skills are a must.
• Demonstrated unique methods for improving customer relations and sales margins.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Must reside in the Metro NY area, preferably within the five boroughs.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license or be able to travel around territory in a timely manner.
• Flexible scheduling for frequent evening and weekend appointments.
